Rachel is a sixteen year old young woman who has had her life turned around on her. Rachel’s mother is in court ordered rehab. Rachel has been sent to live with her uncle, Brad.

Brad loves his niece but he doesn’t now how to really interact with her. He knows his sister has been a horrible mother, but he can’t reach Rachel. ┬áLet her know she’s save and loved.

Kyle is a high school teacher that has the unfortunate event of being the victim of Rachel’s ire at a coffee shop and Brad unloads a little. Also, leaves him his number.

As Brad and Kyle start to build a relationship so do Kyle and Rachel. Kyle understands and can give advice, swap horror stories, and really listen. This gives Brad a chance to connect with his niece.

Somehow even though she’s supposed to be in rehab, Rachel’s mom finds a way to constantly throw a wrench into their happiness.
