Iron Paradox by Zana King

Iron Paradox by Zana King

This is Iron Fist Series book #2 and the parallel twin to Wicked Inked Series book #2: Wicked Triplicity by Tanya Sands.

Iron Fist is a heavy metal band comprised of life long friends. All grew up with haunted pasts and this will be one of the catalysts that binds them together; not just emotionally, or mentally, but physically as well.

Due to unfortunate circumstances the band is in need of a new bus driver; cue Cyndra. She’s a short spit fire of a woman who grew up around these busses. She knows how to fix, maintain, and most importantly drive them.

When Zaire, the bassist for the band, sees Cyndra he’s head over heels in lust with her. He knows he wants to get to know her better and understands it’s going to be an uphill battle. Only it’s worse than he thought with the band keeping major secrets and making Cyndra feel less than, left out, not wanted.

Then something horrible happens and the fate of the band, Zaire and Cyndra’s relationship, and the future over all, are resting on the blade of a knife. Nobody knowing which way the winds will blow.

Darkness of Night: Episode One by C.S. Duffy Blog Tour Stop

Darkness of Night: Episode One by C.S. Duffy Blog Tour Stop

Exclusive Excerpt:

The fact that Stuart Henderson was one of the worst serial killers alive wasn’t what fascinated Lorna, though he was. He had been convicted of killing seventeen women, though he confessed to thirty-seven murders altogether, and according to Lorna’s Google search, the FBI suspected that the true number was even higher. He was a monster. Abhorrent. A vacuum of humanity.

Lorna was fascinated.

She remembered tagging along to a sleepover with her sister Greer when she was about eleven. She’d forgotten now why she had been foisted on the older girls, probably their parents had a night out to go to or something. But she did remember that they watched The Silence of the Lambs.

The girls all squished together on a giant blow up mattress in Greer’s friend’s spare room, stuffing their faces with sweets. Lorna mostly remembered that it was freezing; even though her feet were stuffed into a sleeping bag along with Greer’s, they were like blocks of ice. Within minutes, most of the older girls were freaking out, begging for it to be put off.

Lorna was dying to see the rest but afraid to speak up as she wasn’t even supposed to be at the party. Luckily, Greer’s best friend Suzie, who was nicer to Lorna than Greer was most of the time, noticed the expression on Lorna’s face and announced she wanted to watch the end too. ‘

You owe me, wee one,’ she grinned as the others went to the other side of the room to make up routines to Take That’s new album. She and Lorna snuggled under about seven sleeping bags to watch Hannibal Lecter escape from that mad giant bird cage thing that Lorna thought was brilliant. To this day, vintage Take That could conjure images of Anthony Hopkins wearing the security guard’s face.

After the sleepover, Lorna went to the library and checked out out the Hannibal Lecter books, persuading the doddery wee librarian (she was probably about thirty-five, but when you’re eleven everyone seems ancient) that they were for her mum.. She read them all, then moved on to books about real serial killers. When her friends were exchanging lurid fantasies about Brad Pitt and Robbie Williams, Lorna was staring out the window, daydreaming about catching the Zodiac Killer.

She never told anyone about it. Everyone already thought she was a weirdo. Why confirm it?

It wasn’t surprising then, that she had been glued to Stuart Henderson’s trial, sitting up all night for weeks on end watching the live feed from the court in the States. At the time she supposed she was fascinated mostly because she felt as though she could have known him. He was from just down the road from her – they could have sat next to each other on the number 88 bus coming home from town. He could even have friends in common with Greer.

However, when she heard his name mentioned the night after she came home to find her flat ransacked, she knew it was fate.
