Arthur-Viscount Campden has been left mentally ill after a fever as a child. He hallucinates frequently by hearing and seeing things that aren’t there. He’s since been locked in his rooms for the past ten years.
One night he disturbed by a ruckus outside his door. He listens intently trying to figure out what the noise is when a stranger appears in his room. He believes it another hallucination; that talks back.
Fox first presents himself to Arthur as a commoner but soon allows Arthur to know he too is a gentleman. Fox is charmed by the innocence of Arthur and frequents him in his rooms. They quickly develop a friendship that eventually leads to more. All the while we’re seeing Arthur come out of his shell.
Secrets are revealed that have Arthur making rash decisions that drastically change his future.
